About Anna Messersmith

Welcome. We are glad you found us! You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Anna works with clients from early childhood through adulthood, supporting individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, adoption, and attachment-related concerns. Anna’s goal is to create a space where you feel supported, respected, and truly heard.

Anna’s approach is trauma-informed and rooted in an understanding of how early relationships shape how we see ourselves and connect with others. Anna helps clients explore patterns that may no longer serve them well, while also considering the broader relationships, environments, and systems that influence their lives.

Anna is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Samford University and my Master of Social Work from Kennesaw University. Anna’s work is shaped by years of experience supporting children and adults impacted by trauma, including abuse, neglect, exposure to violence, and complex family stressors. Anna is especially attentive to helping young people feel safe and supported during difficult moments and brings that same care and compassion into her work with individuals and families.

Anna has completed training in a variety of counseling modalities, including TraumaPlay, Level I training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and caregiver–child work informed by Theraplay® principles. Anna’s practice is further shaped by ongoing professional development, allowing her to tailor care to each client’s unique needs. Anna accepts private pay and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
